I create inviting websites
for spiritual directors.

Is this you?

  • You recently completed your formation as a spiritual director.

  • The ministry of spiritual direction is precious to you and you’d like to do more of it.

  • You thought you’d have more directees by now. You’re puzzled about why you don’t and what to do about it.

  • Your default is to wait and trust but you’re wondering if you are being invited to take some active steps towards growth.

  • You’ve thought about developing a website to promote your practice but you’re not sure how to go about it.

I’d love to create a website
with you.

I work with spiritual directors like you to create an inviting website that supports the growth of your spiritual direction practice.

Do you want:

  • A website for your spiritual direction practice that is inviting, authentic and effective?

  • To be guided through the process in way that is safe, supportive and attuned?

  • Expert support in crafting marketing messages that are true to you and aligned with the values of spiritual direction?

  • Help to understand how to use your website to support the growth of your practice?

Why work with me?

My value in this space comes from the unique combination of skills and experience I weave together. I’m a spiritual director and website creator, a wordsmith and an editor, a communications strategist and a songwriter.

I have learnt to practice with presence at the intersection of marketing strategy and the deeper domains of soul care and spiritual growth.

Using my expertise to help elevate contemplative spirituality and spiritual direction brings me joy.

I’d love to support you to express your essence in a way that connects with those you feel called to serve.

Like spiritual direction, I see website creation as a partnership, a companionship of empowerment.

Would you like us to work together?

When I create your website, I guide you through a soulfully strategic process that supports you to:

  • Articulate what spiritual direction is in a way that reflects who you are as a spiritual director.

  • Reflect on and identify who you are most naturally gifted to companion as a spiritual director.

  • Co-create marketing messaging that are true-to-you and speak to the desires and struggles of the people you want to work with.

  • ·Approach marketing as a life-giving invitation to seekers rather than pushy self-promotion.

  • Identify your spheres of influence and communities of connection.

  • Think about how to use your website in an integrated way to support your practice growth.

Marketing as manaakitanga

No doubt you have carefully created a hospitable, professional space to meet with your clients in person. (Even if that means putting a pot-plant at just the right spot for your Zoom sessions!) A space that supports presence, that welcomes the shy soul to feel safe enough share.

What if you were to think about your website as your home online?
As the place where people ‘meet you’ before they meet you in person.

Re-imagined in this way, your website is a place of hospitality, not just a tool for self-promotion.

  • Your website is a place where potential directees feel seen and heard because you understand them.

  • Your website can be an attractive space where imagery, symbols and beauty can touch a person’s heart.

  • Your website can be a trust-building location where people can get a sense of who you are and grow the courage to get in contact.

At best, your online presence is an emanation of your presence.

Let’s always remember the hopeful vulnerability and risk-taking courage people show in reaching out to a stranger. They are seeking a trustworthy person with whom to explore the most personal dimensions of their lives. What if your website spoke to their hopes and offered reassurances for their concerns?

An attractive, welcoming website can communicate empathy, love and respect.

It can support the beginning of a sacred, spiritual direction relationship.

I created this website and I’d love to create something similar for you.

What you can expect when we go on this collaborative, creative journey together.

  • An initial zoom meeting for me to get to know who you are and what your offer - to get a sense of your presence!

  • A professional, inviting five-page mobile-responsive, squarespace website promoting your practice.

  • Support to find and claim a unique domain name/URL, if you don’t already have one.

  • Well-written, inviting copy that is true to you and sensitive to your ideal reader. I craft this writing from raw material elicited from you through reflective dialogue or writing prompts via email. The process is respectful, reflective and collaborative.

  • Content that anticipates and answers questions and hesitations your potential clients may have.

  • Creative direction on imagery and photography. If a photo shoot is outside of your budget, I will work with you to select free images that reflect the symbolism and metaphors at the heart of your practice.

  • Optional e-newsletter template and website subscription set up.

What A Website Will and Will Not Do

A website in and of itself is not going to overwhelm you with enquiries. It will be a welcoming point of contact when people hear about you via word of mouth and want to ‘check you out’ before booking a session.  It is going to enhance and enrich whatever natural referrals and recommendations are already coming your way.  If you are looking to proactively boost your client numbers, that will require a different set of soulful offerings that create pathways that lead people to your online home. (Blog posts, social media, flyers, videos etc). I am also available to provide this sort of marketing support.

Pricing and Process

As a rule of thumb, the website process described would cost in the vicinity of $750-$2000 (+GST), dependent on the scope of what you need. I am happy to book a 30 minute no-obligation, free zoom meeting to learn about what you are hoping for. I can provide a tailored quote at that point.

Casual Rates: $85 (+GST) per hour for copywriting, website review, e-newsletter creation, social marketing, content marketing, blog support, communications consulting.

Next Steps:  Email me on hello@kathrynoverall.com and tell me a bit about yourself and your practice. I look forward to connecting with you.

I’d Love to Hear from You.

I create inviting websites for spiritual directors, counsellors and coaches. Please tell me a little about yourself and what you’d like my support with. I am currently on maternity leave and am returning to work in Nov 2024.

“Before Kathryn entered my world, Bestow and Janesce were faceless brands. Over the last five years, Kathryn has helped me to tell my story, refine my message and become a recognised leader in my industry. She is both intuitive and strategic, creative and precise. Kathryn puts herself in our customer’s shoes and is great at making sure people who are new to our brands find it easy to understand our products and philosophies.” ~ Janine Tait

Business Sense

“I contracted Kathryn as a copywriter to help me clarify my messaging for my new business website and wow, she extracted the message I was trying to tell so well! She also helped me discover my ideal client and the transformation I empower them to achieve. I'm rapt. Yes, this all took some decent brain work on my part, but the process was a million times more efficient and enjoyable than doing it on my own, and the result really great - so worthwhile.” ~ Heidi Seal
